Summary: This
story is about what monsters do throughout the day, from the time they get up
in the morning until they go to bed at eight o’clock at night; monsters spend a
busy day, especially at school.
Rating: ***** I
highly recommend this book for its great introduction to analog and digital
clocks. It has great illustration and it shows the different things children
can do during the day. I think any child would enjoy talking about what they do
during the day. I think this is a great way to introduce children the
difference between a.m. and p.m.
Classroom Ideas:
This book could be used with several mathematical topics that include
telling/writing time using a.m. and p.m., and retelling story. Students could
use the analog or digital clock to tell time. They could keep track of what
they do during the day; for instance at 8am they get to school and at 8pm they
go to bed. They can figure out differences between a.m. and p.m.
